We understand that some of our patients have recently received letters from UnitedHealthcare indicating changes to their insurance coverage or their ability to continue seeing their providers at Fort Wayne Dermatology Consultants.
We want to help clear up some confusion!
There are TWO separate situations occurring:
1️⃣ UnitedHealthcare Plan Changes
UnitedHealthcare is discontinuing certain insurance plans in our area. Patients enrolled in these plans may need to select a new insurance plan to maintain their healthcare coverage. These changes are being made by UnitedHealthcare, not Fort Wayne Dermatology Consultants.
2️⃣ Letters Regarding Dr. Veerkamp
Some patients have received letters suggesting that Dr. Veerkamp will no longer be participating with UnitedHealthcare.
This information is NOT correct.
These letters appear to be related to an administrative issue during Dr. Veerkamp’s recredentialing process. Dr. Veerkamp is NOT leaving Fort Wayne Dermatology Consultants, and we are working to resolve the confusion with UnitedHealthcare.
