How CoolSculpting Elite and CoolTone Work Together to Contour Your Body

If you’ve put in the work of eating well and staying active, but there are still areas that won’t budge, you’re not alone. Stubborn fat and lagging muscle definition are a couple of common concerns we hear about at Fort Wayne Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics, and they’re exactly what CoolSculpting Elite and CoolTone are designed to address.

Neither treatment is a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, and neither is a weight loss solution. They’re precision tools that are designed for people who are already close to where they want to be and looking to refine their results in specific areas.

Here’s a closer look at how each treatment works, and why combining them can deliver results that go beyond what either can do on its own.

CoolSculpting Elite addresses the first piece of the puzzle: stubborn fat that exercise can’t reach.

HOW COOLSCULPTING ELITE WORKS

CoolSculpting Elite is non-invasive and requires no downtime, making it a convenient way to get the look you want. CoolSculpting Elite removes excess fat through the targeted use of cold temperatures. This process, called cryolipolysis — the controlled freezing of fat cells — targets fat cells and cools, crystallizes, and destroys them. This treatment targets subcutaneous fat, the fat that’s right below the skin.

At the end of your treatment, you’ll receive a massage to break up the fat cells. Then, over the next two to four months, your body’s lymphatic system will naturally metabolize and flush out the dead fat cells, leaving you with a slimmer, more sculpted appearance. Results can begin to appear in as little as three weeks, with final results most noticeable 12 weeks after your last treatment.

After your treatment, the area may feel tender or sensitive for a short time. This is your body beginning the process of naturally eliminating the treated fat cells. Most patients return to their normal routine the same day.

The number of sessions varies by person and treatment area, which is exactly why we build every plan around a one-on-one consultation. At Fort Wayne Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics, your aesthetician will assess the treatment area and your goals before recommending a session schedule designed specifically for you.

Once fat is addressed, CoolTone takes on the layer beneath it.

HOW COOLTONE WORKS

CoolTone takes a different approach to body contouring entirely. Rather than targeting fat, it uses magnetic muscle stimulation (MMS) technology to reach muscle groups that even regular exercise can struggle to fully engage. The treatment bypasses the skin, fat, and nerves to trigger deep muscle contractions in targeted areas.

During treatment, you’ll feel strong muscle contractions and tapping sensations as the device engages targeted muscles. Common treatment areas include the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs, and sessions usually last about 30 minutes for each targeted area.

Over the following weeks, the repeated muscle contractions help improve muscle strength, tone, and definition, leaving you with a firmer, more sculpted appearance. For optimal results, we typically recommend a series of treatments.

After a CoolTone session, your muscles will likely feel fatigued, which is a sign that the treatment engaged them deeply. This typically resolves within a day or two, and most patients find it a welcome reminder that the treatment is working.

Used together, these two treatments cover ground that neither can on its own.

BENEFITS OF COMBINING COOLSCULPTING ELITE AND COOLTONE

Most body contouring treatments address either fat or muscle. Rarely do they address both, and rarely in a way that’s planned around your specific anatomy and goals.

At Fort Wayne Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics, our licensed aestheticians assess both layers together, building a treatment plan that sequences CoolSculpting Elite and CoolTone in the order and combination that makes sense for your body.

The result is a more complete contour — less stubborn fat, more visible muscle definition — achieved through a personalized plan rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Our practice offers a wide range of aesthetic services, meaning our team can also recommend complementary treatments — whether that’s pairing body contouring with a skincare regimen or discussing what else might support your overall aesthetic goals.

If you’re curious whether this combination makes sense for your body and goals, the next step is a conversation with our team.
